Terminal 2 building is a green certified project, accomplishing “Green Port” environmentally sensible standards. This is a LEED certificate Project and ISO 14000 for operation. The terminal building is a large scale “L” shaped container. It houses a series of gardens and smaller constructions. These are versatile installations that can be modified. The structure is designed as a series of pre-cast concrete trapezoidal frames. The roof area large span concrete “H” shaped beams. According to orientation and distribution of spaces, different areas of the roof will allow natural lighting and even sunshine on interior gardens. To a great extent, he whole building is naturally adapted to climate. It is an efficient and elegant structure that starts up a new trend beyond modern architecture towards a high quality sustainable architecture.
