aicm / airport terminal building / mexico city > competition entry

the airport terminal t2 is a series of green areas and buildings that fulfills standards to qualify as a "green project", due to environmental protection, efficient energy use and minimum waste production. t2 will be certified as "leed" for the project and iso 14000 for operation. the terminal is a large linear container that houses all function and movements required for an excellent level of service. a system of interior gardens and light constructions live under the huge poriferous roof. interior environments can be easily modified in the future.the terminal is a "v" shaped gallery that defines a green area in the acute angle, and the aircraft zone on the other. the green space has a higher space, more urban, and a lower part treated wildly. the higher garden is the roof of the public parking which is directly connected to the terminal. the hotel is a rectangular prism that floats over this garden. the lower garden contains a lake filled with rain water from roofs and clean drainage.the whole terminal complex has its own transportation system linked with the general city lines...
